Who are we?

We are Tom & James, aka The Tempest Two.

In 2015, we stepped foot onto a 6 metre rowing boat, pushed off land in the Canary Islands and spent 54 days rowing across the Atlantic Ocean to Barbados. We survived hurricanes, sharks, tankers and capsizes. It was in short, absolutely insane.

Since that day, we have been professional adventurers, and have ticked off expeditions in Patagonia, the Sahara and spent three days vertical, climbing El Capitan.

What makes us different, is that we aren’t elite. We aren’t gold medalists or ex-military. Instead, we are just two normal friends who have developed a mindset that allows us to set ‘impossible’ goals, stay focused and calm under huge pressure, and make it happen.

Over the past decade, alongside our adventures, we have worked with leaders and their businesses to instil a mindset that is resilient to change, motivated to do great things, and ultimately embraces challenges - Turning obstacles into opportunities.

We understand the pressures of running a startup, because we too are founders. We raised the VC money, we hired and fired, we pivoted, we laughed and cried, then pivoted some more! It unfortunately failed, and gave us as much learnings as any of our adventures.

Our experiences over the past 10 years gives us an incredibly unique skillset.

A pair of coaches that have a track record of achieving big goals, who have worked with high performing teams at the most respected companies in the world, and have founder experience to call upon. There is an ocean of ‘coaches’ and gurus out there who talk a good game, and stand at the base of the mountain giving advice to those climbing it. We have summited that mountain, multiple times, and now our mission is to help others do the same.
